Words to Live By

Happy Hump Day!!!  I was browsing through a friends facebook and I found this quote. This is now posted on my desk where I can view it every day. This quote really touched me and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Whatever you give to life, it gives you back. Do not hate anybody. The hatred which comes out from you will someday come back to you. Love others and love will come back to you.

For the love of dogs! Write a Post Help a Dog!

Ok for all of you dog lovers out there this is a MUST do! Who is always excited when you come home? Who does not stay mad at you for one second after you spank them? Who can you talk to and not have to worry about them saying anything? You faithful dog that's who! This is the least we can do for all those pups out there who do not have a loving owner and who are not able to make someones day better by jumping for excitement when their owner gets home. Link up with Two Little Cavaliers and help support Pedigree to help make some sweet little pups bellies full!

BlogPaws the Conference for Pet Bloggers, Pet Brands, and Pet Health Care Professionals is only a day away now and in honor of the occasion Pedigree has decided to launch a Write a Post, Help a Dog Campaign. For those of you who missed the event last year in September 391 bloggers wrote about the program and with each post, Pedigree donated 20 pounds of its Healthy Longevity dog food to shelter animals. In all, 7,820 pounds of food was donated to two shelters known across the country for their dedication to the care and re-homing of senior dogs: Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco and Castaway Critters in Harrisburg, Pa.
How you can help in 2011
Simply spread the word about Write a Post, Help a Dog 2011 and once again Pedigree will donate 20 pounds of food for each blog post.  If you don’t have a blog feel free to tweet about the campaign or share on Facebook so your friends who do blog can participate. All bloggers are welcome even if you do not generally talk about pets on your blog. Its all about using Social Media for Social Good.
Here’s how it works:
  • The Write a Post, Help a Dog program is aimed at raising awareness of the more then 4 million dogs that wind up in shelters and breed rescues each year. As well as to help get them all food (our goal is 10,000 lbs of food in the next two weeks) for the more than four million dogs that wind up in shelters and breed rescues each year.
  • For each blog post mentioning the Pedigree Foundation from now until midnight ET on September 3, Pedigree will donate 20 pounds of its new dry Pedigree recipe food for dogs — its best recipe ever — to a shelter, because every dog deserves leading nutrition.
  • Feel free to mae your post more visually appealing by using either or both of the two images seen in this post.
  • The Pedigree Foundation — a 501 (C)(3) nonprofit organization is committed to helping dogs by providing grants to shelters and rescues and encouraging dog adoption. This year the Foundation has already raised more than $376,570 against its goal of $1.5 million to carry out its work to fund grants that not only help shelters operate, but to further shelter innovations.

The Pedigree Foundation depends on charitable contributions from individuals to carry out its mission to help dogs find loving homes. In addition to writing a blog post, here’s how you can help:
Once you get your post up and ready please feel free to grab the link code to include it in your post and add your link to the list so it is easier to keep track of all the posts plus it makes it so easy for your friends to learn about the event and see the progress we are making towards our goal of 10,000 lbs of food.

Five Question Friday!!

Happy Friday Yall!! Today I am linking up with My Little Life for Five Question Friday!!!

Rules for 5QF: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog post, answer them, then link up!

1. Do you close the bathroom door when you are home alone?  Nope! I rarely ever close the bathroom door... I know it drives my boyfriend crazy but oh well :)

2. You have to walk around with a word on your forehead. That word describes you. One word. What is it?
Hummmmm I would have to go with Friendly... because I try to smile at everyone I see and I am very courteous for the most part unless you catch me on a bad day.... then my word would be Back Off.

3. What store do you refuse to shop at and why?  ABERCROMBIE!!! That place drives me crazy it smell sway to perfumey (not a word I know) and the music is too loud and people just stare at you while your shopping.

4. If you participated in arranged marriages for your child(ren), who would you choose for your child(ren)? I don't have childrens :)

5. If you could pick how and when you would die, would you?
Sure would! In my sleep, before all my children (if I ever have children)

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe weekend!!!!

Thirsty Thursday

Happy Thursday All!!!

I'm feeling rather "thirsty" today so I thought what better way to make me crave a drink more than to share some of my favorite "big girl" drinks with my fellow bloggers.

This is an all time favorite. My girlfriends and I get so excited when summer comes around because that means WATERMELON margaritas at On the Border!!! :)))

If you like rootbeer then you will love this. I cannot stand liquorice at all but for some reason this is my go to drink at the bars.

This is another go to at the bars...

And of course a little vodka and cranberry juice is always a good one!!

This is a drink my boyfriend introduced me to and is wonderful and turns into such a pretty green color, it's called an Irish Wake. You have to be very careful with these :) Mix all the ingredients in a mason jar and you have yourself a pretty green drink!
1 oz

1 oz
8 oz's
1 oz

Now onto wine ohhh how I love wine!

I had this at a local restaurant I went to and I have been a fan ever since!!

Riesling, Houge Cellars.

Ernest & Julio Gallo Cafe ( I have a bottle of this in my fridge right now)

A friend of mine introduced me to this and I love it and the bottle too!

After a Stone Hill Winery trip with my girlfriends last summer I fell in love with this wine. The only bad thing is they don't sell this wine in Arkansas and I have to go all the way to Missouri to get it. This is also pretty much the only wine my boyfriend will drink. We are planning a trip back soon to pick up a case or 2 :)

Stone Hill, Concord

Well those are just a few of my favs, if you don't like "sweet" wines you probably won't enjoy these to much maybe the first and third will be your best choice.

After this long exhausting day is over I plan to go home pour me a big glass of wine and enjoy myself until the boyfriend gets home from work :)

Have a WONDERFUL day!
